Does background music help you focus?

Do you enjoy focusing while listening to music?

I prefer silence . Music significantly distracts me , especially when I do cognitive thinking.

I do enjoy listening to music when I study or working on a work assignment, I have to keep it at a low volume though

I always listen to music when I need to really focus. I either listen to gameplay music (e.g. from Skyrim) as it is designed to keep you focused on and keep playing a game, something which happens to work with focusing on other stuff as well, or really monotone techno music.

Yes, whenever I am working and also even when I am gaming I prefer to have some kind of music playing in the background as I feel it helps me focus and also helps boost my mood as well which in turn can leave me feeling a lot more focused. Sometimes when listening to music as well it can help with inspiration as well and for someone like me who writes a lot as a job, that can help so much.
