When should a forum open its doors?

I remember way back when forums were very popular, there would be new forums popping up each day with absolutely no content, not even a logo in place.

Prior to opening The Chat Society, I worked to create a decent amount of content and made sure the site was ready for newcomers.


When is the right time to open your forum's doors and allow new registrations?

I recently built a business and investment forum, I created 20 topics and then invited my online friend to post on the forum. I think 20 topic threads are enough in a forum for opening it for public posting.
